And then there was one.  Congratulations to North Carolina the 2009 NCAA College Basketball champion.  It was a great tournament with a mix of upsets and some really exciting games.

This was a record year for our tournament pool.  It took 17 years but we finally surpassed the 1000 entry mark with a 1032 active entries.  Thank you very much to everyone for participating and thank you for all your hard work in getting use the 1000 mark.  The Survivor Pool was also a big success with 73 entries.  It was a lot of work but as always it was a lot of fun.  Now I can't wait until next year to do this all over again!!!

On to the stuff you've all been waiting for which is the how much did I win or for the majority of us how much didn't I win.  There were 1032 active entries, six of which were free plays.  Taking out the $2 per entry for our charitable donation that leaves a prize pool of $18,468.00.  Our winners are as follows:

Charities
This year we are able to donate $2150.00 to our charities.  Thank you to everyone who kicked in a little extra.  It is greatly appreciated and means a lot to me.

As we have done for many years now $2 from every entry fee will be used for a charitable donation.  This year the donation will be split between two different charities, The Texas Children's Hospital and The Maisey and Jake Lowe Children's Fund.   In May 2007 my son Gehrig was diagnosed with a heart defect known as coarctation of the aorta which required surgery to repair his damaged heart.  Gehrig was 4 years old at the time of his successful surgery at Texas Children's hospital.  Maisey (10) and Jake (7) Lowe are my niece and nephew and they live in Fairbanks, Alaska.  In January 2008 their father, my brother-in-law, Jimmy Lowe died in his sleep as a result of a heart condition.  Jimmy was 37.  As you can see both of these charities are very important to me and any extra donations to these charities will be greatly appreciated.

Winners
For those of you lucky enough to have finished some where in the money please get me your information as soon as possible so that I can get your winnings too you.  I need you entry number, sheet name, first name, last name, email address, phone number and mailing address.  Winnings will be sent out by Monday, April 13th.  Please don't forget to tip The Administrator, it all goes to charity anyway.

Masters Pool
Many have asked but my schedule just doesn't allow for me to do the Masters Pool this year.  Hopefully it will be back in 2010.

I hope to see you all back next year.

The Administrator
